Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Aide Trainee to join our team at Hazard Health & Rehabilitation Center. As a Nurse Aide Trainee, you will have the opportunity to train and become a certified State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA) in the state of Kentucky.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver routine nursing care to residents under the direction of the charge nurse on duty.
  • Provide a safe and dignified environment for all assigned residents in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assist with orienting residents and their families to the nursing home on admission and to the unit when transfers occur.
  • Lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.
  • Assist and escort residents for appointments, activities, or church services.
  • Participate in activities and functions as directed.
  • Practice careful and efficient use of supplies and linen and follow established charge procedures for resident charge items.
  • Complete certified nursing assistant records documenting care provided or other information in keeping with department policies.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 17 years of age.
  • Must frequently lift or move residents and objects weighing over 100 pounds.
  • Frequent pushing or pulling of wheelchairs or beds weighing in excess of 200 pounds.
  • Frequent bending and stopping to assist with dressing, tying shoes, bathing residents.
  • Frequent reaching and stretching across beds and patients to change sheets, linens, clothes.
  • Ability to balance while reaching and stretching to obtain items off shelves or across beds.
  • Finger and hand dexterity required.
  • Visual and hearing acuity essential.
  • Must be able to assist with the evacuation of residents.
