Job SummaryThe Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient-centered care to individuals undergoing radiation therapy. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Administer radiation therapy treatments and medications
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and adjust care plans as needed
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and effective treatment delivery
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding radiation therapy and its side effects
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
- Current RN licensure in the state of Virginia
- BSN or MSN degree preferred
- Experience in radiation oncology or a related field
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
