About the Role
Famous Supply is a leading wholesale distributor of HVAC, Plumbing, Building Products, Lighting, and Industrial/PVF segments. We are seeking a skilled HVAC/Plumbing Wholesale Distribution Buyer to join our Purchasing Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review requisitions and release purchase orders in a timely manner to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain sufficient levels of inventory at our branches and distribution centers to meet customer demand while achieving company inventory turnover objectives.
- Establish and maintain purchasing data such as price, landed cost, lead-time, order quantity, and product description.
- Assist with product line and SKU inventory strategy (stock vs. non-stock status).
- Expedites delivery of products and maintains credible delivery information for purchase orders. Drives suppliers for excellent delivery performance.
- Negotiate costs with suppliers.
- Evaluate potential suppliers and recommend sources of supply based on alignment with company expectations.
- Stay up to date on industry and product knowledge and market trends.
- Measure and monitor purchasing and inventory metrics and strive for high performance.
Requirements
- 3 years purchasing experience.
- Distribution industry experience and requisite product knowledge.
- Experience using Epicor's Eclipse ERP system.
- International freight and import compliance knowledge.
- Microsoft Office 360, Proficient in Excel.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Thorough with keen attention to detail.
