About the Role: GFL Environmental is seeking a reliable and skilled Waste Collection Operator to join our team in [location]. As a Waste Collection Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting waste and recyclables from customers.

Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. This estimate is based on industry standards and takes into account the level of skill required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a residential collection truck to collect solid waste and/or recyclables on specified routes;
  • Load waste and recyclables into the rear or side of the collection vehicle;
  • Operate equipment on the truck to compact trash and maintain route quality standards;
  • Complete daily reports and other documentation requested by supervisors;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety standards and regulations.

Requirements:

  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Class B endorsement;
  • At least one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate;
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently;
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
