As a Substation Engineer at HDR, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing substation engineering solutions for high-voltage electric utility projects. You will work collaboratively with project teams to ensure successful project outcomes and contribute to the growth and development of our company.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage project teams in preparing scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
  • Develop and implement physical substation designs, including yard layouts, plans, sections, and details, as well as grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material.
  • Prepare calculations for studies and reports, including grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies, and other relevant topics.
  • Develop equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing.
  • C coordinate design activities with other departments, effectively communicating and coordinating project activities with managers, clients, and other stakeholders as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software, such as PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected compensation range for this position in the United States is $81,586 - $116,550, depending on location and qualifications.
