Senior Tax Manager Role at Crete Professionals Alliance

Crete Professionals Alliance is a rapidly growing alliance of accounting and professional service firms in the United States. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Manager to join our team in Columbia or Lexington, South Carolina.

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving growth and profitability for our partner firms. Your primary responsibilities will include keeping compliant with various local, state, and federal tax regulations, implementing measures and developing policies for dealing with various areas relating to taxes, and preparing various forms of tax returns, projections, estimations, performing analysis, planning, research, and overseeing audits.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be proficient in the preparation of various tax returns, including individual, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and multistate tax returns. You should also have competency in all phases of accounting and tax, including performing tax planning, tax preparation, review, compliance, and research. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate proficiency through technical knowledge of accounting and reporting standards in areas such as researching, completing, and reviewing technical areas.

You will work closely with our engagement Partner to identify tax risk management issues and propose potential solutions. You will also be responsible for reviewing tax procedures and financial statements with no supervision, monitoring tasks assigned to team members, checking for clarity of communication by monitoring tasks, reviewing workflow, and ensuring that the team completes all tasks on a timely basis. Furthermore, you will oversee team members and coordinate day-to-day duties, communicate to Partners any client issues and work status to ensure timeliness, and supervise, train, and mentor tax staff.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA certification, and at least 7 years of experience in a CPA firm. You will also need to have strong experience using Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office, and Intuit QuickBooks. Other requirements include ability to work independently, inspire a team to drive results through efficiencies, strong verbal and written communication, ability to provide positive feedback, constructive direction through proper coaching and mentoring, strong attention to detail and time management, ability to prioritize and assign tasks based on skill set of team, high degree of decision making, moderate degree of independence, and consistent communication with Partner, Client, and team to ensure that desired results are timely, accurate, and perceived as positive in nature.

We offer a competitive salary range of $135,000 – $185,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
