Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the classroom environment, ensuring the health and safety of all children present.
- Engage actively in all program aspects, including direct interaction with children, families, and staff, while adhering to compliance requirements from various agencies.
Specific Duties:
A. Child Interaction
- Assist in all care aspects, including feeding and positioning.
- Integrate therapy recommendations into daily routines.
- Utilize developmentally appropriate practices.
- Implement educational curricula effectively.
- Develop and execute the Family Support Plan.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate each child's needs and maintain accurate records.
B. Family Engagement
- Act as a resource for families in developing the Family Support Plan.
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding their children's progress.
- Participate in parent education and support initiatives.
- Foster positive relationships with families consistently.
C. Staff Collaboration
- Supervise paraprofessionals and model effective practices.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and support staff.
- Implement recommendations from therapists for best practices.
D. Compliance with Agencies
- Adhere to health and safety standards as outlined by regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain all necessary documentation for funding sources.
E. Professional Development
- Complete initial orientation and ongoing training.
- Incorporate new training into classroom practices.
F. Policies and Procedures
- Follow all agency policies and quality assurance standards.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform physical tasks such as bending and lifting.
- Maintain alertness to ensure the safety of all children.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
- State Certification preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
Compensation: Salary based on experience and qualifications.
