About the Role:
- The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Director of Human Resources and will play a crucial role in aligning business goals with the needs of employees and management across designated business units. This position acts as a consultant on various Human Resource matters.
- The ideal HR Generalist will serve as an advocate for employees and a catalyst for change. This role will evaluate and anticipate HR-related requirements, proactively communicating these needs with the HR department and business leadership to develop integrated solutions.
- The HR Generalist will build partnerships throughout the HR function to provide value-added services to management and employees that align with the organization's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement training programs focused on Human Resource development.
- Support the Director of Human Resources in managing employee relations and conducting investigations.
- Monitor, document, and ensure compliance with mandatory and optional training, continuing education, and work assessments.
- Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring process for qualified candidates; collaborate with departmental managers to identify the necessary skills and competencies for open positions.
- Conduct or arrange for background checks and verify employee eligibility.
- Oversee the implementation of new hire orientation and employee recognition initiatives.
- Perform routine tasks essential for administering and executing human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave management, disciplinary actions, disputes, performance management, and training and development.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communication, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of five years of progressive HR experience is essential.
- Experience in conducting investigations and managing employee and labor relations is preferred.
- SHRM or HRCI certification is advantageous.
- Ability to independently investigate, recommend, and resolve employee relations issues is necessary.
- Must remain informed about recent changes in federal, state, and case law and understand their implications for HR practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and follow up with all organizational levels, are essential.
