We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant/Associate Professor of Special Education to join our faculty at James Madison University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the K-12 Special Education program, with a focus on courses in the general curriculum (i.e., high-incidence disabilities) concentration.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the K-12 Special Education program
- Develop and implement curriculum in the general curriculum (i.e., high-incidence disabilities) concentration
- Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in the field of special education
- Engage in service and scholarship related to the discipline and program
The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in special education or a closely related field, with at least three years of teaching experience in K-12 special education. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate experience teaching students on the general curriculum in grades K-12 school settings, experience in applying for or coordinating internal and external grants, and a productive research agenda.
