We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Superintendent to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a key member of our Field Supervision department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all mechanical aspects of our water projects and other jobs as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all mechanical activities on assigned projects.
- Supervise and mentor mechanical crews, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Ensure all mechanical work meets project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials, and approve monthly job cost updates.
- Identify and resolve any mechanical issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and providing regular project updates.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, schedules, and change orders.
- Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements.
- Manage contract administration (subcontractor/field management).
- Mentor and help to grow fellow Kiewit staff through performance evaluations.
- 5+ years of construction experience with 3+ years in a Superintendent/leadership capacity.
- Associated or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements and jurisdictional issues, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit's policies, procedures and software programs.
- Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong experience in Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
- Ability to access all areas on a construction project site.
