Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Nursing Officer to join our leadership team at Forrest City Medical Center. As a key member of our hospital's leadership team, the CNO will play a critical role in supporting the hospital's mission and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide administrative leadership and support to the nursing team, including budgeting, time approvals, staff evaluations, and expense approvals.
  • Representation and Communication: Represent nursing services at all meetings, including medical staff and hospital board of director meetings, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Standards and Accountability: Establish standards for nursing practices and maintain authority, accountability, and responsibility for nursing services.
  • Patient Care and Quality: Participate in designing and providing patient care services to prevent complications, promote improvement, and enhance patient comfort and wellness.
  • Program Development: Develop organizational patient care programs, policies, and procedures that describe how nursing care is assessed, delivered, and evaluated.
  • Staff Engagement and Development: Provide leadership to nursing staff to enroll their support, create ownership of goals, and have them actively participate in decisions that impact the hospital.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations.
  • Collaboration and Partnerships: Partner with physicians who use or will use the hospital to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Strategic Planning: Assist in planning new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.
  • Employee Retention and Development: Create an environment that encourages recruiting and retention of clinical employees.
  • Cost Management: Manage costs by continually seeking data that identifies opportunities and taking action to eliminate non-value costs.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited institution and master's degree in a related field are required.
  • Experience: 10+ years of previous clinical experience, including nursing leadership experience.
  • Licensure: Must have a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Arkansas.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patients, guests, physicians, and other employees.
