Position Purpose

The Shred-it Route Driver is responsible for delivering exceptional service to clients while ensuring the secure destruction of confidential information. This involves transporting supplies and materials safely and in accordance with company policy and local and federal laws.

Key Job Activities
  • Perform onsite/offsite document destruction of confidential information
  • Conduct pre/post-trip checks and driver check-in on assigned truck, reporting maintenance issues to Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up
  • Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service, maintaining DOT logs when applicable
  • Ensure high levels of security when emptying consoles and/or collection totes, retrieving all documents and securely locking consoles/containers
  • Manage assigned routes to ensure timely and accurate collection and servicing of confidential materials
  • Handle and respond to customer inquiries and problems expediently and in the best interest of both the customer and Shred-it
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in driving shred/box trucks and route management
  • Current driver's license (Class D or above) with an excellent driving record
  • May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records as required by federal regulation
Certifications and/or Licenses

Drivers License, Medical Examiners Certification
