Job Summary:
The General Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the overall success of a SONIC Drive-In restaurant. As a General Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of employees, managing restaurant operations, and ensuring that customers have an excellent experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, train, and develop a team of employees to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality food production.
- Direct and assign employees to ensure all aspects of food service meet operational standards.
- Adhere to and monitor employee compliance with policies and practices.
- Perform restaurant opening and/or closing duties, including inventory management and cash handling.
- Prepare work schedules and monitor staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage.
- Monitor and maintain restaurant inventory levels, including food, paper, and other supplies.
- Complete and maintain all drive-in restaurant employment-related records and payroll records.
- Reinforce a customer service mentality and ensure all employees are focused on guest service.
- Immediately and respectfully resolve guest requests and keep the Area Supervisor informed of any issues.
- Interview and hire restaurant crew and management team members to achieve proper staffing levels.
- Prepare all necessary operational reports and develop action plans to resolve unfavorable financial and/or sales trends.
- Develop and implement a marketing plan to increase sales and customer engagement.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced studies in business or restaurant management preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of restaurant management experience, preferably in the quick-service industry.
- Ability to work a 50-hour work week, including irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, and selection practices.
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws, as well as local health and sanitation laws and regulations.
- Leadership and supervisory practices and skills; effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic accounting and computer skills.
- Ability to follow directions, work with autonomy, and multi-task.
- Problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Willingness to abide by the appearance, uniform, and hygiene standards at SONIC.
