Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT). As a key member of our IT operations team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level technical guidance and support for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Provide technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise systems, including SCCM/MECM.">
  • Leverage your knowledge of Microsoft Server 2022 to develop and implement advanced technical solutions for network management, software deployment, and hardware configuration.">
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, backup and recovery processes, and compliance with established standards and policies.">
  • Develop and maintain training materials for end-users on proper hardware and software usage.">
  • Lead efforts to ensure data/media recoverability through regular system backups and database archive operations.">
  • Conduct advanced hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.">
  • Evaluate existing systems and plan long-term strategies for digital modernization.">
  • Cultivate and lead less-experienced professionals in their career development.">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  • ">
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.">
  • A minimum of 17 years of related experience, with expertise in DoD 8140/8570 IAT II compliance.">
  • Active Top Secret clearance with a T5 or T5R within the last 5 years.">
  • Strong oral and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.">
  • Experience with PowerShell for custom reporting and development.">
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Windows Server.">
  • Ability to convey conceptual ideas both written and verbally.">
