The Aspenwood Company - The Doliver of Tanglewood is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Cook, available in both part-time and full-time capacities.

Compensation: $16.00/hr.

As a Cook, you will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and serving of a diverse range of meals using fresh, canned, dry, or frozen ingredients, adhering to established recipes. This role also involves assisting with various tasks within the designated food service area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook complete meals, including soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, and baked goods.
  • Accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions of residents.
  • Monitor food items to ensure compliance with temperature, taste, and quality standards.
  • Utilize various cooking utensils and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored.
  • Check the quality of ingredients and monitor stock levels, placing orders as necessary with supervisor approval.
  • Adhere to nutrition and sanitation guidelines, following all relevant governmental and company policies.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff and participate in community emergency response efforts.
  • Uphold standards of personal hygiene and appearance in accordance with company policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; culinary training is a plus.
  • Must obtain accredited food handler certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Six months to one year of proven cooking experience.
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques and tools.
  • Strong ability to follow sanitation procedures and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent physical condition and stamina.
