We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technician to join our team at Sweeping Corporation of America. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of heavy equipment and diesel engines.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, adhering to all established policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and understand both written and oral instructions, and provide feedback as necessary.
- Ability to build and maintain concise and accurate records of work using Fleetio or equivalent electronic DVIR and work request systems.
- Ability to use computer-based diagnostic tools to troubleshoot vehicle/equipment error codes.
- Perform PMs on commercial trucks, and diagnose and repair machines/equipment components.
- Diagnose and repair A/C systems, with certification in A/C a plus.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, specifically both Cummins and Detroit.
- Commercial (air) brake diagnostics, adjustments, repairs, and replacement of components.
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.
- Proven experience as a Mechanic (4 years or more), with at least 1 job reference from the past 6 years.
- Must provide own tools for use.
- Must adhere to all established policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
- Must have a good attitude and attendance practices.
- High school diploma preferred or acceptable documented GED, with certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship a definite plus.
- Valid certification (ASE) is preferred.
