About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and collaborating with our surgical team to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare for surgeon-specific operative and invasive procedures, ensuring timely, accurate, and effective setup of instruments, equipment, and sutures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons to adjust setup as needed, ensuring a seamless and efficient surgical experience.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to surgical team members, including precepting and mentoring new staff.
  • Anticipate and respond to intra-operative events, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team, patients, and families to ensure clear understanding of procedures and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of completion in Surgical Technology from an accredited program.
  • Certified Surgical Tech upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
  • Multicultural sensitivity.
  • Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
