Position Overview

As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our property. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests from guests and addressing their concerns effectively.
  • Conducting routine preventive maintenance on various tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and well-lubricated.
  • Performing visual inspections of equipment and machinery to identify potential issues.
  • Managing maintenance inventory and requisitioning necessary parts and supplies.
  • Communicating daily activities and any challenges encountered to other shifts through established communication protocols.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
Possessing a foundational understanding or the ability to learn about:
  • Air conditioning and refrigeration systems
  • Electrical and plumbing systems
  • Pneumatic and electronic controls
  • Carpentry and finishing techniques
  • Kitchen equipment maintenance
  • Energy conservation practices

Additional Duties:
  • Performing minor repairs such as drywall patching, painting, and replacing light bulbs and air conditioning filters.
  • Testing and troubleshooting various equipment and plumbing systems.
  • Programming televisions and assisting with inventory management related to housekeeping and engineering.
  • Utilizing the Lockout/Tagout system for safety during maintenance tasks.
  • Maintaining both interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Navigate stairs, ramps, and ladders as necessary.
  • Perform tasks that require bending, twisting, and reaching.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some experience in general maintenance, particularly in hotel engineering, is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
