Patient Care Technician

At Dialysis Care Center, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional hemodialysis care to patients in their homes, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition, documenting observations as needed.
- Assist with administering basic treatment, including hemodialysis therapy.
- Review lab work and physician orders, reinforcing treatment care with patients.
- Enter ICD-9 codes for lab draws into the computer.
- Perform basic nursing procedures, such as changing bandages.
- Ensure patients have adequate supplies, monitoring and maintaining inventories.
- Prepare dialysis equipment before treatment and care for it after treatment.
- Complete flow sheets to verify patient billing.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, adhering to state and federal regulations.
- Participate in quality assurance and cost containment programs.
- Be available for on-call responsibilities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current CCHT, Bonent, or state-required certificate.
- Current CPR card.
- 1+ year of experience as a certified dialysis patient care technician.
- Ability to travel to patients' homes with no restrictions on distance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
This position requires extensive travel between assigned patients' homes, which may involve long distances. Working hours can vary, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The work environment is characteristic of a dialysis facility with controlled temperature and moderate noise. Ability to lift at least 30 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Must pass the Isahara's Color Blindness Test.
