Position Overview:

The SBA Senior Credit Approval Officer I plays a crucial role in supporting the SBA Business Development Officers and Bankers by effectively structuring and evaluating SBA transactions for both current and potential clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the overall credit quality management of the SBA Portfolio across the Bank Midwest, N A footprint.
  • Conduct thorough underwriting of new SBA credit applications while adhering to internal and external regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Examine application materials, analyze financial statements, and assess financial performance metrics.
  • Facilitate the loan closing process, ensuring all conditions of approval are met.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 5-7 years of pertinent experience in business and commercial banking, with a focus on SBA products.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various web-based applications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of SBA Lending practices.
  • Completion of a formal credit training program or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating complex business financials.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficient in building and nurturing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
