Job Overview

Position Summary:
This role involves providing essential support to children and families engaged with the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). The Behavioral Aide will deliver critical behavioral modification training and case management services to enhance family dynamics and individual well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Behavioral Modification Training: Facilitate skill development in communication, social interactions, anger and stress management, problem-solving, crisis intervention, and ensuring a safe environment.
  • In-Home Case Management:
    • Coordinate access to community resources and services.
    • Advocate for necessary service provisions.
    • Assist families in preparing for reunification.
    • Monitor placements to ensure safety and stability post-reunification.
    • Provide basic behavioral management strategies for families.
    • Deliver parenting education and skills training.
    • Support the creation and discussion of life books.
    • Implement fundamental discipline methods.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services-related field such as Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Social Work, Child Development, Community Mental Health, or Education (with experience in K-12 teaching).
  • Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of paid experience in human services working with children in grades K-12.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team and work harmoniously with other service providers.

Service Areas: Cobb County, Lamar County, Douglas County, and Gwinnett.

Employment Type: Contract position.
