Job Overview

Position Summary

The Parenting Education Program delivers essential in-home support to families in need, focusing on preventing child abuse, neglect, and potential separation from their homes. This initiative also aids in the reintegration of children returning from placement, ensuring a seamless transition. Families may be mandated by the court to participate in this program. Our services are tailored to address the unique challenges faced by each family, including developmental milestones, safety protocols, attachment and bonding strategies, effective communication, and establishing boundaries.

Key Responsibilities

  • The caseworker will adhere to the policies and procedures set forth by Catholic Social Services, as well as comply with relevant regulations.
  • Maintain strong and positive relationships with contracted service providers and community organizations.
  • Provide comprehensive case management services, including in-home parenting education and essential life skills training to mitigate risks of abuse and neglect.
  • Gather pertinent information from local child welfare agencies to identify and address parenting-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with various social service entities, judicial systems, and child welfare organizations to effectively meet client needs and facilitate resource utilization.
  • Engage in regular supervisory meetings, either weekly or biweekly, to discuss case progress and challenges.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or requested by supervisors.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately, professionally, and promptly for review by supervisors.
  • Participate in an annual performance evaluation to assess job effectiveness.

Qualifications Required

This role necessitates:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related discipline.
  • A valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Completion of background checks including PA State Police, ChildLine, and FBI prior to employment.
  • Participation in VIRTUS training provided by the employer.
  • Completion of any required training to fulfill documentation responsibilities as per program policies.
