Job Title: Pipefitter Journeyman

We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter Journeyman to join our team at WestRock's pulp and paper mill in Longview, WA. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair activities on piped and valves in a large paper mill.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect worksites, plan activities, select tools and replacement parts, cut, weld, disassemble, and assemble parts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes, rigging, pipe threading machines, welding equipment, tube bending machines, and various power tools.
  • Read or sketch blueprints/drawings and perform own fit-ups.
  • Layout and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
  • Assembly of components with some fabrication of equipment as needed for the job.
  • Position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Operate cutting equipment.
  • Fabricate and assemble screwed piping and tubing, fit weld pipe or butt weld pipe and associated brackets using blueprints and specifications within tolerance.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years' experience working in an industrial maintenance environment as a journey level Pipefitter, previous experience in a pulp and paper mill would be considered a plus.
  • Formal apprenticeship or education preferred.
  • Experience welding carbon and stainless steel.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions, read and interpret technical documents, and operate moderately complex software and web-based programs.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; customer-focused and a flexible, positive attitude.
