As part of the Financial Planning and Analysis division, the SEC Segment Reporting Analyst plays a crucial role in the presentation of financial data by reportable segment. This position demands extensive experience in the banking sector, coupled with robust Finance and Accounting expertise and proficiency in EPM software.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation for Segment Reporting

  • Engage in the SEC Segment Reporting readiness initiative, which includes revising and updating Funds Transfer pricing and cost allocation methods.
  • Design and execute a capital allocation strategy to distribute capital among various business segments.
  • Generate comprehensive balance sheets for each reportable segment, detailing loans, total assets, deposits, and capital.
  • Establish a loan loss provision allocation framework in accordance with CECL.
  • Conduct research and analyze peer segment reporting and disclosures for benchmarking purposes.
  • Assist in compiling segment results for the previous three years, reflecting the latest organizational structure.

Ongoing Segment Reporting Duties

  • Support the preparation of financial statements and metrics by reportable segment for SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K), ensuring adherence to SEC regulations, especially regarding segment reporting under ASC 280.
  • Review and analyze data for financial reporting, ensuring the precision and integrity of SEC submissions.
  • Prepare and verify quarterly tables, ensuring the thoroughness of data and disclosures in SEC filings.
  • Assist with technical accounting standards, revising policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Contribute to the enhancement and implementation of internal controls.
  • Research SEC guidelines related to segment reporting and recommend improvements and updates.

Educational and Certification Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in business or accounting is required. A post-graduate degree or certification, such as an MBA or MS, is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

A minimum of three to five years of experience in finance and banking, including expertise in SEC reporting or segment reporting.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

Familiarity with EPM software such as AXIOM EPM, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is essential.

Advanced proficiency in MS Office and experience with Wdesk (Workiva) is advantageous.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple tasks.

Ability to thrive under pressure, including tight deadlines and shifting priorities.

Knowledge of banking products, services, and systems.

A solid technical accounting foundation with understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial reporting obligations. Experience with WDesk (Workiva) is preferred.
