Key Responsibilities- Supervise and/or participate in financial operations within the Finance Department.
- Prepare and present reports on operations and activities, including staff reports for meetings.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the city-wide budget; make recommendations for budget adjustments as needed.
- Lead year-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, auditing financial entries, and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Assist State auditors during financial audits and provide necessary financial statements.
- Analyze various funds and prepare complex financial statements and reports.
- Provide support to various departments regarding financial reports, trends analysis, and expenditure recommendations.
- Manage Federal and State grants, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Respond to inquiries from the public, agencies, and contractors regarding fiscal matters.
