The State of Maryland is seeking qualified individuals for the role of Operations Coordinator. This position is essential in managing various operational services within the Department of Labor. An Operations Coordinator is responsible for overseeing multiple general service functions, including but not limited to: facility management, maintenance services, risk assessment, fleet oversight, inventory control, procurement, clerical support, reception duties, records administration, security operations, and telecommunications management.

Key Responsibilities
This role encompasses a wide range of duties critical to delivering high-quality customer service through the Office of General Services (OGS). The primary responsibilities include:
- Acting as a liaison among various units to gather and process service requests from staff, ensuring that each request is evaluated for appropriate handling based on urgency, confidentiality, vendor capabilities, and ongoing projects.
- Developing and implementing strategies to ensure timely completion of essential service requests, making informed decisions to select the most suitable vendors based on specific criteria such as deadlines, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Establishing and managing workflows necessary for handling the extensive forms utilized by the agency, ensuring efficient management of all departmental documentation.
Qualifications
Education: Completion of high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: A minimum of two years in operational services, office management, or related fields involving the procurement and management of supplies and equipment.
Additional Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute relevant experience for educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
2. Military service experience in logistics or administrative support may also be considered in lieu of the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
- A valid driver’s license.
- Experience with spreadsheet applications, particularly Google Drive.
- The ability to lift 50 pounds or more, including boxes and equipment.
Special Requirements
All candidates will undergo a background check to verify any outstanding debts related to unemployment overpayment or fraud, which may influence employment eligibility.
