OVERVIEW:
The Custodial Specialist is responsible for the thorough cleaning and upkeep of the interior spaces within the facility, ensuring a pristine environment for all visitors.

This role includes general cleaning duties across various areas, focusing on maintaining tile and carpeted floors, as well as the daily upkeep of designated eating spaces.

The specialist will also assist with the arrangement and dismantling of spaces as required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Regularly performs comprehensive housekeeping tasks.

Ensures meticulous attention to detail in cleaning assigned areas, which includes restrooms, flooring, waste disposal, and other essential duties.

Responsible for addressing stains, spills, and other messes throughout the day, including occasional clean-up of bodily fluids.
Maintains cleanliness in dining areas, ensuring tables, chairs, and walls are properly cleaned. Responsible for the upkeep of lounges and meeting spaces.
Conducts daily inspections of restrooms, ensuring they are stocked and clean, while reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
Assists with room and event preparations as needed.
Keeps janitorial closets organized and fully stocked, ensuring all cleaning equipment is in good working order.
Operates floor cleaning machinery in various areas, including dining and restroom facilities. Responsible for the proper handling of cleaning supplies and materials.
May assist with outdoor maintenance tasks such as snow removal and litter collection as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in large-scale facility cleaning. 2. Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service. 3. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. 4. Flexibility to adjust work hours as necessary to ensure adequate coverage. 5. Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and its operation. 6.

Strong analytical skills for using communication devices, maintaining accurate records, and basic knowledge of computer systems and two-way radios.

*Preference will be given to candidates who are multilingual.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Ability to view computer screens and facility-related documents, as well as observe the museum, visitors, and equipment. 2. Effective communication skills for engaging with visitors, staff, and guests via telephone and in-person. 3. Capability to respond to on-call alerts as necessary. 4. Physical ability to lift heavy items (minimum of 50 lbs.), manage inventory, and handle museum supplies. 5.

Ability to perform both low and high cleaning tasks throughout the building (from ground level to heights of thirty feet).
