About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our Apple Services Engineering team. As a key member of our Solr SRE team, you will be responsible for developing processes, tools, and automation for managing distributed systems in production environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable search infrastructure using Solr, ElasticSearch, or OpenSearch
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define metrics, set targets, and optimize system performance
  • Develop and maintain automation tools to ensure high availability and reliability of our services
  • Work closely with engineers to identify and resolve production issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
Requirements
  • Proficient in modern Java and optionally Python
  • Experience with at least one scalable search platform
  • Strong production debugging and performance tuning skills
  • Deep understanding of the Linux operating system
  • Experience with EC2, EBS, and Terraform
  • Experience running stateful services on Kubernetes is preferred
