Role Summary:

We are looking for a proficient and seasoned Tax Reporting Lead to join our innovative Tax team at UL Solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our tax operations and enhancing our processes in a collaborative environment.

This position reports directly to the Director of Tax Reporting and includes managing a Tax Technology Analyst. It is a prominent role that involves close collaboration with various team members, including the VP of Taxes, offering significant potential for career advancement. The ideal candidate should possess a meticulous and analytical mindset, with comprehensive knowledge of ASC 740 reporting standards applicable to U.S.-based multinational corporations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and evaluate global annual and interim consolidated income tax provisions and related SEC disclosures, ensuring precision and timely completion in alignment with ASC 740.
  • Calculate and monitor essential ETR drivers, including executive compensation limitations under Section 162(m) and valuation allowances.
  • Conduct research and interpret ASC 740 standards alongside domestic and international tax regulations as necessary.
  • Lead the tax reporting and SOX controls processes, continuously identifying and implementing enhancements to streamline tax reporting procedures.
  • Coordinate with international affiliate contacts to gather tax provision packages and collect cash tax data.
  • Collaborate with team members to manage Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation requirements related to income tax reporting.
  • Oversee the performance of direct reports by defining responsibilities, setting performance goals, and providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis and other stakeholders to prepare and manage the global ETR and cash tax forecast.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a tax-related discipline; a master's in tax or an equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience with a Big 4 accounting firm and/or corporate/in-house experience with a U.S.-based multinational public company.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience in tax accounting and reporting under ASC 740.
  • Proficiency in OneSource Tax Provision software and its add-in applications, such as DataFlow and Workpapers, or similar provision software.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex tax issues with clarity to non-experts across the organization.
  • Must hold a Certified Public Accountant designation.
