We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Director to join our team at Knott's Berry Farm. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our facilities, ensuring that they are safe, efficient, and meet the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Provide technical and organizational leadership to departments, maintaining all facility HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen, and food preparation equipment, as well as all facility water and sewer systems in a safe, reliable, and functioning condition.
- Project Management: Plan and direct the work of staff, including training, assigning, planning, and reviewing work, evaluating work performance, coordinating activities, maintaining standards, allocating personnel, selecting new employees, and acting on employee problems.
- Inspections and Quality Control: Inspect all aspects of new construction, repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance, and supplies to ensure that jobs are completed efficiently, specifications are within regulatory requirements, and inspection reports and work order requests are correct.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Develop and accurately maintain budgets for all assigned departmental responsibilities, with a good understanding of modern business practices and procedures, business letter writing, and elements of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, and mathematics.
- Procurement and Resource Management: Coordinate the procurement and scheduled use of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials to ensure maximum use and completion of work within budget, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
- Education: Associate's degree / vocational or technical school, focus in Facility Management, HVAC, Business, or similar preferred.
- Experience: At least 8-10 years of prior work experience, in facilities management preferred, with at least 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience and 6 years' direct experience working in one or more of the following trades: plumbing, HVAC-Refrigeration, electrical, carpentry, painting, kitchen equipment repair, and sign making.
- Certifications: EPA 608 certification for handling and evacuating refrigerants is required, with HVAC-R certification preferred.
