Perinatal Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Perinatal Imaging Specialist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our Ultrasound Department, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive non-invasive and invasive procedures to demonstrate OB/GYN anatomy under investigation.
Key Responsibilities- Physiologic Assessment and Imaging: Provide physiologic assessment of OB/GYN vasculature and fetal well-being, and independently provide technically optimal, complete, and accurate images for diagnosis of the high-risk OB/GYN patient.
- Documentation and Communication: Document patient history and results of study, and notify appropriate physicians of summary of findings.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Display competent understanding and operation of ultrasound equipment, and report any malfunctions to the manager.
- Patient Care and Safety: Deliver patient care, ensure a secure and safe patient and work environment, and maintain adequate supplies in US rooms.
- Technical Support and Leadership: Provide technical support for smooth and efficient operation of Ultrasound Department, and assume lead position as necessary in the absence of Lead Technologist and/or department supervisor.
- Licensure and Certification: ARDMS-Registered in OB, Certified in performing Nuchal Translucency within 6 months, and CPR certification.
- Education and Experience: Graduate of AMA-approved school of ultrasound, 2 years OB/GYN experience, and must become proficient in fetal echos within 1 year of hire date.
- Knowledge and Skills: Good skills in OB/GYN and pelvic ultrasound exams, good skills in endovaginal scanning, good skills in OB/GYN color duplex scanning, and good skills and knowledge of pathology in high-risk OB/GYN imaging.
This position requires good judgment, reliability, responsibility, independent thought, and action. The incumbent must be able to stand for long periods of time, perform emergency procedures as required, and move equipment to bedside.
