The Role:
We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic bartender who can provide exceptional service to our guests in a music hall atmosphere. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food to guests with a cheerful attitude and in an efficient, professional manner.
- Interacting with guests in a natural, friendly demeanor, cultivating regular guests and repeat business.
- Successfully completing a pour test prior to every shift, where applicable.
- Suggestively selling both beverages and menu items to guests at the bar.
- Delivering food items and beverage orders promptly.
- Prioritizing and organizing drink orders.
- Preparing beverages according to standard recipes and venue specifications, adhering to all control systems.
- Recording any equipment failure and/or safety hazards in the bar log.
- Recognizing when guests are becoming too intoxicated and refusing further service of alcohol in a courteous and safety-minded manner, bringing it to the attention of a manager.
- Ensuring responsible alcohol service, adhering to local ordinance, alcohol awareness training, and HOB alcohol policies.
- Requesting proper identification for anyone appearing under 30 years of age.
- Maintaining HOB safety and sanitation standards.
- Performing Opening/Running/Closing duties according to HOB policy.
- Preparing guest checks (on point of sales terminal) and processing payment according to HOB policy.
- Maintaining the bartender bank.
- Performing cash pull / check out procedures.
- Maintaining appropriate Comp and Spill checks.
- Occasionally working Special Events scheduled throughout the venue.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A valid State or County Licensee or Certification Requirement/Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent.
- The ability to work late hours.
- A flexible schedule.
- Cash handling experience.
- The ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
- Skill in interpersonal communication and teamwork.
- The physical ability to pass a pour test and a mixology drill (timed).
- The ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner.
- Tolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms.
- Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent.
- Preferred qualifications include 4 years of work experience in a high-volume environment, experience recognizing valid IDs, and experience in a live music environment.
Benefits:
As a Music Hall Bartender at HOB Entertainment, LLC, you'll enjoy a competitive salary of $40,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience. Additionally, you'll have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
Working Environment:
The working environment is fast-paced, often loud and stressful. As a Music Hall Bartender, you'll be required to stand for extended periods and work on your feet.
