Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-time Weekend Medical Receptionist to join our team at American Family Care Sanford. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare the Clinic for Opening
    • Review the facility, open all systems applications, and prepare new patient registration packets and required documents
  • Patient Registration and Check-out
    • Greet patients, provide patients with initial paperwork, and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards
    • Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance accurately and timely, and check patients out
  • Payment Processing and Customer Service
    • Determine, collect, and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues
    • Respond promptly to customer needs, provide excellent customer service, assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests
  • Closing Procedures
    • Balance daily patient charges (cash, check, credit cards) against system reports
    • Complete closing documentation and submit required reports
    • Complete cash control procedures and secure financial assets
  • Maintaining Accurate Documentation
    • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Previous medical clerical experience preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office
  • Accuracy and detail orientation
  • Positive customer service skills
  • Well-groomed appearance
  • Clear and articulate phone mannerisms
