Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Ultrasonographer/Echocardiographer to contribute to our high-quality patient care at FRANKLIN GENERAL HOSPITAL. This role is essential in delivering exceptional service to our patients and their families.

The ideal candidate will be a certified Ultrasonographer/Echocardiographer. However, we welcome applications from Ultrasound Technicians who are eager to expand their skills in echocardiography. FRANKLIN GENERAL HOSPITAL is committed to supporting your professional development, including training and certification in Echo.

This full-time position requires a commitment of 36 hours per week, with no weekend, holiday, or on-call duties.

As part of the Radiology team, you will play a vital role in patient support, which may include administrative tasks and direct patient assistance.

Your responsibilities will encompass a range of advanced ultrasound procedures, including:

  • Pelvic examinations
  • Abdominal assessments
  • Small parts imaging
  • Routine vascular studies

Upon obtaining Echo certification, you will also conduct echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms, collaborating closely with cardiologists.

Qualifications include:

  • Graduation from an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Current ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology
  • Iowa Permit to Practice
  • ARDMS certification in abdomen, OB, vascular, and breast imaging

If you are currently working as an Ultrasound/Echo Technician, you should have graduated from a radiology or cardiovascular technology program with specialized training in Cardiovascular Sonography.

Preference will be given to candidates certified by ARDMS in registered diagnostic sonography (RDCS), adult echocardiography, pediatric echocardiography, and registered vascular technologist.
