Job Title: Title Officer

Job Summary:

Fidelity National Financial is seeking a highly skilled Title Officer to join our team. As a Title Officer, you will be responsible for performing examinations and preparing title commitments for properties across the state. You will also handle requests for changes to all title-related products via phone calls and emails from internal and external customers, requiring excellent customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Search and analyze records, such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat maps, to determine ownership and legal restrictions and to verify legal description of property and completeness of records and insurability.
  • Identify and resolve most issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in the title documentation.
  • Prepare initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines.
  • Review preliminary title reports, judgments, bankruptcy documents, appraisals, and any additional applicable documents to determine if file is ready to be submitted to Underwriter.
  • Meet determined service level time frame requirements set by management.
  • Assist in effectively communicating underwriting decisions to customers, both internal and external.
  • Maintain high level of customer service and communication both internally and externally.
  • Analytical review skills with research and investigative skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CO Producers title license required.
  • 3+ years of related experience.

  • Excellent talent to interact with people in a positive and courteous manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks according to importance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Multi-tasking capability without compromising on quality.
  • Outgoing, dependable, punctual.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, specifically MS Word and Excel.

Work Environment:

This is an IN OFFICE position.
