Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic with experience in generators to join our team for temporary power missions following storms and natural disasters.

As a member of our team, you will work with FEMA and the US Army Corps of Engineers on 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week, in various locations across the US or offshore territories.

Our missions can last from a week to 12 months, depending on the location and damage. You will be paid for hotel and per diem expenses when working more than 75 miles from home, and we will also provide a generous daily allowance for your vehicle if you have a 1/2 Ton or 3/4 Ton truck.

You will be required to wear safety gear, including steel-toe boots, gloves, hard hat, goggles, and high-visibility vest, as well as typical tools needed to maintain a diesel engine and generator.

In addition, you will need to pass a security clearance as we often work on military bases.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of journey-level experience in the repair and maintenance of diesel standby generators
  • Education or technical training in a field related to diesel-driven power generating plants
  • Or equivalent, accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience

You should also have 3-5 years of diesel engine experience, be able to diagnose engine failures, and effect the necessary repairs, including fundamental Tier 4 PM and regeneration activities.

Certifications

Before deployment, you must have the following certifications:

  • OSHA 10
  • ABC of Temporary Power
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Anti-Terrorist Course
