Job Title: Day Program Instructor Caregiver

Job Summary:

The Day Program Instructor Caregiver will provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This role requires a strong commitment to person-centered care, advocacy, and community involvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily routines and activities that promote the health, safety, and well-being of clients
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and meal preparation
  • Support clients in vocational and leisure activities, promoting their independence and self-advocacy
  • Participate in client assessment, planning, and evaluation processes, ensuring that individualized plans are implemented and reviewed regularly
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless support and services
  • Attend regular staff meetings and participate in continuing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a California Driver's License
  • Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of hire
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of hire
  • First Aid/CPR certification
