Adjunct Assistant Professor: Intermediate Spanish I

Barnard College seeks a part-time instructor to teach Intermediate Spanish I (SPAN UN2101) during the fall semester of 2024.
Job Summary:The Department of Spanish and Latin American Cultures at Barnard College is looking for a qualified candidate to teach one section of SPAN UN2101, a course that focuses on oral interaction, reading, writing, and culture in Spanish.
Responsibilities:- Teach one section of SPAN UN2101, approximately 15 students
- Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the course goals and objectives
- Assess student learning and provide feedback
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the Spanish language program
- Master's Degree with a primary or substantial focus on Teaching Spanish as a Second or Foreign Language
- Experience with content-based and student-centered methodologies
- Strong teaching and communication skills
A competitive course pay rate of $12,500
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
