SUMMARY
This position is part of a seasonal exchange program situated at a scenic camp location. Global Camp Supervisors are responsible for the safety and supervision of campers at all times. They undertake various roles to support camp operations.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversees a group of campers, ensuring their safety and accountability at all times.
Facilitates program activities that are suitable for development and promote the growth of camper skills and character. Leads and assists in the organization of special events for the entire camp.
Provides guidance and supervision to developing teen leaders assigned to the group.
Maintains high standards of cleanliness in all areas, including bathrooms, cabins, and the main lodge.
Ensures all program equipment is functional and accessible.
Assists in keeping all program areas safe and orderly.
Communicates any personal or camper needs to the supervisor promptly.
Participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
Adheres to relevant American Camping Association standards.
Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those regarding medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role operates in a residential camp setting, both indoors and outdoors. Staff typically reside in shared cabins with campers or in shared accommodations with other staff during their employment. Specific housing arrangements depend on the position and availability.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.
The employee frequently stands, walks, uses hands for various tasks, and reaches with hands and arms.
Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
This position may require the ability to occasionally lift supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
The typical work week at camp consists of six days on and one day off, which includes training, staff meetings, and regular responsibilities.
This summer camp position is exempt from minimum wage and overtime regulations as per applicable state laws.
TRAVEL
This position requires living onsite at the camp. All work-related travel will be conducted by authorized YMCA drivers.
Qualifications:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must be 18 years of age or older
Current certifications in CPR and First Aid (training provided if necessary)
1-2 years of experience working with children in settings such as camps, childcare, tutoring, nannying, or coaching
Demonstrated experience in planning and executing group activities
Ability to engage in physically demanding outdoor activities, including hiking, boating, camping, and swimming.
Ability to interact professionally with parents, caregivers, campers, and staff.
Other combinations of relevant education, training, and experience that provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform effectively in this role may also be considered.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in a camp setting
Familiarity with and experience working with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical activity, sexual orientation, etc.). Proficiency in any language besides English is a plus.
Experience with anti-racism practices and community building
