Purpose and Scope

The Field Service Engineer II will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and quality of NxStage's products. This position will assist engineers and customers in testing and improving product reliability, as well as performing basic repairs and handling of product systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform operations such as cleaning, packing, and material handling with a high degree of skill.
  • Act as a system expert on NxStage product systems.
  • Travel to customer sites for installations, training, and repair with minimal notice.
  • Expertly test, calibrate, and perform preventative maintenance on product systems.
  • Work under limited supervision and demonstrate the ability to manage projects and meet required timelines.
  • Collaborate with multiple groups to resolve service issues and participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Assess customer returned products to determine failure modes and identify root causes.
  • Participate in the investigation of manufacturing problems and product complaints.
  • Lead in the review of Device History Records for product release.
  • Assist in Document Control, calibration, and quality system performance tracking.
  • Perform audits and tests of software products in accordance with software test plans and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate's or technical degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting ability and customer relation skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to interface with multiple groups to resolve service issues.
  • Overall positive and optimistic attitude.
  • Ability to use various common hand and power-assisted assembly tools.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in areas not optimized for service activity.

The Field Service Engineer II will work in a fast-paced environment with significant travel requirements (up to 90%). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
