Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Assistant to join our team at Baptist Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide exceptional support to our surgeons and patients in the operating room and medical office setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist surgeons in intra-operative care, adhering to aseptic techniques and protocols.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and assist with closure of incisions as delegated by the attending surgeon.
  • Provide on-call availability for after-hours/weekend surgical cases.
  • Assist surgeons in the medical office, including rooming patients, interviewing, and documenting history and physical exams.
  • Perform other office duties as requested or assigned by the surgeon(s) and/or practice manager.
Requirements
  • Licensed Surgical First Assist in good standing.
  • Certification by one of the following: National Surgical Assistant Association or Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologists.
  • 3-5 years' experience as a Surgical First Assist in general surgery cases strongly preferred.
