POSITION OVERVIEW

The Culinary Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing kitchen activities. The Culinary Operations Supervisor works in close partnership with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to uphold standards of cost management and quality assurance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the excellence of food products.
  • Maintain uniformity in food service and quality standards.
  • Notify the Chef and maintenance team regarding any kitchen equipment requiring attention.
  • Manage supply requisitions effectively.
  • Provide training and oversight to kitchen staff on the correct preparation of menu items.
  • Guarantee proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food items in compliance with health regulations.
  • Supervise the daily sanitation of storage areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Assist in determining food presentation styles and create appealing food displays.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Evaluate the quality of raw and cooked food to meet established standards.
  • Achieve and surpass performance, budgetary, and team objectives.
  • Offer coaching and mentorship to culinary staff to foster their professional growth.
  • Train Line Cooks on standards and food cost management to ensure product consistency.
  • Establish and nurture collaborative relationships within the team.
  • Exhibit leadership in guest service, demonstrating exceptional hospitality and creating a welcoming environment.
  • Deliver services that exceed expectations to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Complete all required training and compliance courses as designated.
  • Adhere to organizational standards and policies.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Certification from a Technical/Trade school or equivalent in a relevant field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • At least three (3) years of experience in the culinary or food service industry.
  • A minimum of six (6) months of supervisory experience in a culinary setting.
SUPERVISORY ROLE

This position provides direct supervision to team members, overseeing their work performance in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities may include participating in the hiring, training, and assignment of tasks to direct reports, as well as reviewing their performance in accordance with established policies.

CERTIFICATIONS
  • Food Handler's Card - must comply with state or county regulations.
