Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sport Performance Psychologist to join our team at LMR Technical Group. As a key member of our human performance team, you will be responsible for implementing performance psychology programs to enhance operator mission capabilities, psychological health, and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized and group-oriented programs to support peak performance of individual operators and unit teams.
  • Provide consultation and education to improve operator readiness and resilience, including working with operators and their families.
  • Collaborate with medical personnel, legal authorities, and military commanders to ensure effective support for squadron members.
  • Conduct regular consultations with operators to guide the development of their performance plans and evaluate the efficacy of optimization strategies.
  • Provide unit command consultation and meet regularly with unit leadership to provide consultation on unit performance, resilience, well-being, and overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Administer and interpret results using psychological assessment tools, in coordination with the existing monthly reported unit-specific Human Performance Program requirements and long-term objectives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree (doctorate degree preferred) in Sport/Performance Psychology from an accredited educational institution.
  • Minimum of three years of working experience with individuals/groups of elite athletes at NCAA Division I Collegiate, Olympic, professional sports, and/or Special Operations/AFSPECWAR military members.
  • Possess and maintain license and/or certification in accordance with education and training.
  • Shall maintain organizational memberships in accordance with scope of practice.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of psychological services to include performance psychology.
  • Education and training in clinical/counseling psychology to include knowledge of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of alcohol and substance abuse conditions, post-traumatic stress, suicide intervention, mood and anxiety conditions, and family/marital issues.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • Shall be capable of meeting physical demands of training with SOF, including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments.
  • May require on-call hours.
