Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to the highest culinary standards in all food preparation and service areas.
- Oversee the quality of food preparation, ensuring it is cooked, seasoned, and presented attractively.
- Plan and coordinate daily food production, assigning tasks to staff effectively.
- Act as the lead in the absence of the Executive Chef, guiding the team towards success.
- Review production sheets and ensure accurate food preparation amounts to optimize service flow.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns with professionalism.
- Support catering and special events by assisting with food production and execution as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Promote a positive workplace culture by embodying the organization's mission and values.
- Understand and communicate the organizational goals and how they relate to team activities.
- Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Be adaptable to work in various dining departments as operational needs arise.
- Perform other related duties to meet the operational needs of the dining services.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of experience in food preparation or service.
- Knowledge of culinary equipment, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Strong customer service skills, particularly in high-pressure situations.
- Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in various temperature conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification from an accredited culinary program.
- Experience in high-volume cooking environments.
- Proficiency in computer systems related to food production.
- ServSafe Certification or willingness to obtain it within a specified timeframe.
