Lead Culinary Specialist Job Description

As a **Lead Culinary Specialist**, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, ensuring that meals are prepared to the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Crafting meals from established recipes, ensuring timely and visually appealing presentation.
  • Organizing the food service area and workstations with necessary condiments and garnishes.
  • Preparing and serving all required condiments alongside the appropriate dishes.
  • Assisting in the preparation for the next day's menu.
  • Participating in pre-service meetings with food servers to discuss the details of the daily offerings.
  • Contributing to the training of new kitchen staff.
  • Helping to manage employee schedules within the kitchen department.
  • Assisting with inventory management, food ordering, and menu planning.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in stock rooms, coolers, and freezers, ensuring proper food storage and rotation.
  • Upholding kitchen cleanliness and food preparation standards in compliance with health department regulations.
  • Minimizing food waste through effective storage and recycling practices.
  • Supervising kitchen personnel as necessary.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen setting or a related educational background.
  • Possession of Serv Safe or other relevant local, county, or state certifications.
  • Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities with team members.
  • A commitment to the quality and presentation of prepared food.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation.
  • A solid understanding of food service practices and requirements.
