Position Overview:

Beaver Creek Sports, situated in our village, is seeking a committed individual to fill the role of Assistant Store Manager. This position requires someone who is adept at working with premium ski brands and providing exceptional customer service to every visitor. Key responsibilities will include assisting the Store Manager in overseeing a team of approximately 10-12 staff members, managing daily sales, rentals, and operational and merchandising activities to achieve optimal profitability, efficiency, and a superior guest experience. Duties will also encompass accurately processing store transactions using a cash register and fostering sales by building professional and personalized relationships with customers while delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill manager-on-duty responsibilities as scheduled.
  • Assist in maintaining and coordinating operational standards by adhering to company policies and guidelines.
  • Uphold and exemplify high retail, merchandising, and cleanliness standards as established by the Store and Regional Manager.
  • Support the Store Manager in driving sales while demonstrating and maintaining a high standard of guest service.
  • Ensure all company documentation is maintained according to policies and standards.
  • Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and managing daily operational budgets, including payroll.
  • Help recruit and retain a quality core staff.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new employees in POS systems, product knowledge, guest service, and sales techniques.
  • Support the Store Manager in communicating company values and objectives to employees.
  • Lead inventory management and strive to meet or exceed inventory targets.
  • Enforce company cash handling and other loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Stay informed about new industry products and trends; demonstrate product knowledge.
  • Maintain a positive, motivated demeanor and the ability to multitask.
  • Communicate ideas or concerns with the Store Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of retail experience required, preferably in snow sports retail.
  • At least 1 year of management experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule; stores operate 7 days a week with varying hours based on location, season, and store type.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with rental and retail POS systems.

The expected pay range is $25 - $27.50. This is the anticipated pay range for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on various factors.
