Key Responsibilities- Perform inpatient pharmacy technician duties, including entering orders into electronic health records, compounding intravenous medication orders, and compounding chemotherapy intravenous medications.
- Understand and enforce compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 regulations, including proper wear of barrier/protective clothing, beyond-use dating, and aseptic technique.
- Manage patient-specific pharmacokinetic regimens, including vancomycin, anticoagulants, and aminoglycosides.
- Assess metabolic needs and order therapeutic parenteral nutrition products.
- Provide medication and healthcare-related in-service training to clinical staff on new medications, appropriate use of medications, and comparison of current medication therapies.
- Provide clinical direction to pharmacy personnel and consult with patient care teams through multi-disciplinary rounds and antimicrobial stewardship monitoring.
- Document pharmacy interventions appropriately in the EHR and document significant adverse medication events with prescribers.
- Exhibit basic competency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint and be able to type 40 words per minute.
- Pharmacy Technician Certificate.
- Experience a minimum of 24 months in the last 36 months in an outpatient Pharmacy.
- Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health career Association (NHA ExCPT).
- Must be a US Citizen.
