Key Responsibilities
  • Process and finalize prior authorization requests within regulatory turnaround times.
  • Enter prior authorizations into the system and prioritize requests.
  • Verify medication indications and approvals, and check formulary alternatives.
  • Collaborate with team members and subject matter experts to resolve prior authorization processing issues.
  • Communicate with members, physicians, and pharmacies to obtain missing information and manage pended requests.
  • Make outbound calls to obtain information and answer questions about prior authorization status.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and expectations.
  • Protect and maintain confidentiality and privacy of prior authorization and member information.

Requirements
  • 2 years of experience processing prior authorizations for a health plan or Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM).
  • Exceptional customer service and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy claims adjudication.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work effectively and efficiently.
  • Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician License or Trainee license.
