We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic guidance and support to students in our Early College Program.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic advising and guidance to students in our Early College Program, including assistance with course selection, academic planning, and career development.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement academic programs and services that meet the needs of our students.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in higher education policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure that our programs and services are aligned with industry standards.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in academic advising, student success, and higher education.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as education, counseling, or higher education administration.
- At least one year of experience in academic advising, student services, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to student success and academic excellence.
- Master's degree in a related field, such as education, counseling, or higher education administration.
- Experience working in a higher education setting, with a focus on student success and academic advising.
- Knowledge of higher education policies, procedures, and best practices, with a focus on academic advising and student services.
