As part of the Blade Repair Services team, you will engage in inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance of our North American fleet.


Key Responsibilities:


Uphold the company's values and principles as outlined by the ONE RWE philosophy. Ensure that all operational and maintenance tasks are executed safely in accordance with established policies and procedures.

This includes utilizing essential safety gear, such as a personal fall arrest system, and recognizing potential hazards on-site. Ascend wind towers and access wind turbines to conduct composite repair and maintenance activities. Transport essential tools, equipment, and materials to job sites. Assist in the transportation, setup, and operation of the up-tower blade access mechanism. Collaborate with a team to perform platform and ground access composite repairs on various turbine manufacturers, including GE, Siemens, Vestas, Nordex, etc.

Assist in mobilizing all repair equipment to the site. Aid in major component replacements, primarily focusing on blades. Ensure proper storage, maintenance, and handling of all Blade Repair Service equipment. Execute safety and other wind farm-related tasks as assigned and serve as a backup for personnel at other RWE locations when necessary. Perform all other duties as required from time to time.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED is required; an associate degree in Sciences or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred. Experience in project development or related areas within the energy sector is advantageous (e.g., market analysis, transmission & interconnection, PPA marketing, electrical engineering, environmental analysis, M&A...).

Structured and organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills, interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, and a solid work ethic are essential. All applicants must pass physical fitness tests necessary to maintain Global Wind Organization Certification. Additionally, at the discretion of the business, successful completion of future physical fitness tests may be required. All applicants must possess a valid driver's license in good standing.

Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain an RWE-sponsored Commercial Driver License (CDL) if requested for the mobilization of composite component repair equipment.


Preferred Qualifications:
GWO Certification.

Familiarity with wind turbine blade construction, inspection, and repair, including LPS systems. Knowledge of fiberglass types. Demonstrated experience in blade damage assessment and repair.

Experience across multiple manufacturers (i.e., Siemens, GE, Vestas, Nordex). Previous experience with Blade Access Platforms and rigging is preferred.

Experience with LEP. Understanding of composite materials, including (but not limited to) epoxy resins, polyurethane fillers and paint, core materials, and mix ratios. Accurate completion of QA/QC documentation. Ability to read and comprehend Engineering Work Instructions. Must be able to maintain a personal weight limitation of 270 lbs.

Must be able to climb wind towers daily. During this task, the employee must be capable of opening/closing hatch doors and identifying potential safety hazards.


Physical Requirements:
Must be able to balance to:
(1) work in confined and small swaying areas on top of and within wind towers, and (2) traverse small surface areas to access areas within wind turbines.

Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.). Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively throughout the workday. Knowledge of and experience with hand and power tools. Understanding of environmental and safety policies and procedures. Ability to work under tight deadlines. Ability to multitask while working independently and as part of a team. Willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned.


Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams. Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills. Identify energy isolation points and implement LOTO for protection.

Knowledge of computer network communication protocols and operational theory is desired. Ability to understand and communicate root causes is required. Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork are essential. Promote safety for all at all times.

Initiative - Capable of working with minimal supervision and making decisions regarding all issues related to their discipline(s) with limited and/or available information. Willingness to travel up to 75%, across multiple worksites, in varying weather conditions, and during irregular hours on short notice.
